Fékk lélegustu og dónalegustu þjónustu sem eg fengið, ofboðslega dónaleg stulka og drengurinn sem var að vinna við hlið hennar kallaði á eftir mer að eg ætti að fara til míns heima af þvi eg sé útlendingur, er i sjokkinyfir dónaskapnum og vill að þetta fari lengra

HUGE FEES... This situation applies to everyone! In my situation I bought some items from Aliexpress( it doesn't matter from Ebay, Amazon, Temu or Alibaba) that whole order cost including shipping fees in total 11,136 ISK. When parcels arrived at Posturinn for 9 parcels I needed to pay in total extra 15,013 ISK ( that's way above parcel value) fees including administration fee 840 ISK, shipping fee 599 ISK, for each parcel no matter that parcel cost 3 $ still you need to pay for each same amount. At least VAT customs 24% are cheaper than Posturinn fees. My advice to communicate to platform from where you purchase stuff and ask to put every single package to on single box then you gonna pay one fee and avoid 1 meter receipt

I’m convinced this post office has gathered the most kind and patient humans. I’m always greeted with kindness and patience as I practice my Icelandic language skills while sorting postal errands. Takk fyrir mig 🙂

I use this service often and I love it! The only real problem I have with it is that they charge you ever time a package gets into the country. But I'm not against it. They gotta make money somehow.

Kept asking for my Icelandic social security number despite my repeated tells that I’m swedish…
the lady behind the counter seemed more than done with life (and with me, as if I’d offended her by having the gall of picking up my package that I had sent there in advance)

All and all, it’s a post office. Have a sense that their workers might not be paid enough or something else.

In any sense, I was in and out within 20 minutes, but I sense I was there during a quiet period

I have not received already 4 postcards from my friend. This is criticism towards the whole post office system of Iceland.
After 2 months and a half it should have either arrived or come back already to the sender as tradition. Instead they lost it and can't tell me where it could be.

Worse than not trusting a post office is not even having them organized enough to know where the postcards went (obviously not to the address it should go to).

Worst postal service in the WORLD. They loose packages, always take way too long, and in the end charge you a ton of extra fees for delivery. Completely useless.

Post office is nice, quick and clean. Just 300 ISK for a post card to send in Poland.
