Siamo stati benissimo.
Il padrone di casa ci ha accolti calorosamente, molto gentile e disponibile. È stato molto piacevole chiacchierare con lui della vita in Islanda, delle sue esperienze, ci ha guidati con ottimi consigli. La casa è molto bella, calda e accogliente, in mezzo alla natura, si respira una pace assoluta e profonda.
La camera era bella, confortevole e pulita. Il bagno è in comune ma comunque pulito.
Il padrone di casa ci ha lasciato usare la cucina per prepararci la cena, visto l’arrivo in tarda serata.
Al mattino viene servita una abbondante e gustosa colazione.
Torneremo qui sicuramente!

Das Haus ist über GoogleMaps prima zu finden und auch mit kleinen Tafeln ausgeschildert. Es liegt mitten im grünen Sudurland in einem kleinen "Wäldchen" inmitten von Pferdeweiden. Schön still - man hört nichts als den Wind.

Unser Gastgeber August war sehr freundlich und interessant; er hat uns, da wir kochen wollten, auch gleich ein dafür geeignetes Haus statt des gebuchten Zimmers ohne Aufschlag gegeben.

Das Haus war blitzsauber und gemütlich und hatte alles, was man braucht. Das "Doppelbett" ist etwas klein, aber unsere Jungs haben das Etagenbett geliebt. Nebenan im Haupthaus gab es ein ordentliches Frühstück mit gutem Kaffee und unterhaltsamen Geschichten aus dem Leben des Gastgebers. Er bietet wohl auch Ausflüge, u.a. zu Pferde an.

Ich kann das Alfasteinn Country Home nur sehr empfehlen!

We had such a great experience at the Alfasteinn Country Home. The owner is fantastic and provides a delicious breakfast. We enjoyed chatting with him at breakfast and learning about his experiences and Iceland. The location was perfect. It's about half way along the South Coast Drive. We stayed two nights and visited Westman's Island and saw the sites and towns we wanted to along the coast. I don't know when we will be back in Iceland, but we would certainly stay here again.

Nous sommes partis à 5 avec nos 3 enfants. le gîte est bien situé pas loin de la route 1 (mais on ne l'entend pas du tout ) c'est une très belle maison tout en bois très chaleureuse entourée de nature avec une vue très jolie sur les volcans et Montagnes. Pour Ceux qui aiment les chevaux il y en a dans le champ juste à côté .
Notre hôte a été très sympathique et nous a accueilli chaleureusement. nous avons adoré le petit-déjeuner sucré et salé très copieux (skyr + fromage+ charcuterie + fruit légumes+ jus )
Il y a une machine à laver + sèche linge et un sèche-cheveux 😉. Les chambres sont confortables et la literie (comme chez Ikea) moelleuse a souhaits , on a super bien dormi👍. Et la maison est bien chauffée. Merci pour ce super séjour, il restera dans notre ❤️

Don’t just spend the night here, tour with owner Agust’s Iceland Magic for a truly bucket list experience. As an added bonus, if you’re a photography buff and horse lover like I am, he knows the best places for those memorable shots (see photos) and he is also a skilled horseman with connections to a horse farm where you can actually ride on Icelandic horses to two of the most beautiful waterfalls on the South Coast!|Pros:|- several lodging options -2 private cabins, but we stayed in the main house - I travel quite a lot for business so this was the perfect home away from home for us and Agust was the perfect host. The bathroom was next door to our bedroom just like it is in any home; if you prefer a bathroom in your room, choose one of the cabins.|- yummy breakfasts with a wide variety of both European style cheese and meat, cereals, and Icelandic “yogurt”. After staying in several pricey hotels, a free cup of coffee or tea was very welcome!|- if you also tour with Agust, you are invited to make and pack a sandwich for lunch, and if you’re lucky, he will cook you a gourmet dinner! We had salmon one night, and lamb the next - all delicious.|- did I mention the hot tub? We were too busy touring to check it out, but our fellow German guests enjoyed a warm soak after our horseback ride|- Agust has lived in New York and so spoke excellent English, but he was a treasure trove of historic information about Iceland, the Vikings, and he had stories to tell about all of the spots we visited. Plus, I am sure we saw places others do not see, due to his connections and experience.|- Custom itineraries - I emailed him a list of a few things we wanted to see, but by day three we were so impressed with his knowledge that we let him surprise us with a mystery itinerary. My personal favorite was the day at Porsmark and the surrounding areas (three hikes!) but every day is a good day with Agust!|- His vehicle - which I nicknamed “Chitty Chitty Bang Bang”. This amazing SUV inflated and deflated tires, somehow became waterproof when driving through rivers with water up to the door, it climbed mountains and did everything but fly! It probably does that too, we just didn’t have time for that tour...|Cons|- I wish we had planned to spend more nights and days touring with Agust, and fewer in Reykjavík. Instead of touring with Reykjavík as your base I recommend you stay here and go with Agust instead. You will not regret it! We are already planning our next visit.||

We had the honor of being guests at this fine country cottage in some of the most beautiful landscapes of Iceland. The moment you walked in, you felt like you were home. Warm, inviting, clean, spacious, modern and full of charm. Our host is like no other. You feel like you are at a private dinner party with all the charm and character of an Icelandic country experience. Not only were the accommodations amazing but the tours and excursions offered, spectacular. The experience of our stay at Alfasteinn is one I will always cherish and for certain share with those who appreciate authentic, cultural experiences.

Hosts were very friendly and provided an afternoon snack and coffee when we arrived. We were booked into the one bedroom bungalow but as the house had no guests he gave us the entire hour for the night we stayed! Really loved the location and facilities. Could not have wished for a better stay.

Alfasteinn is the kind of place that you never want to leave. In fact , we change our vacation plans just to stay longer, not just in Iceland but in Alfasteinn.|Needless to say, Iceland is out of this world amazing but when you have Agust as a host, guide and facilitator it gets 10 times better. He knows Iceland like a map knows roads. Glacier walking, horseback riding, off-road trips, he does it all flawlessly. ||If you want to do it on your own, He will give you all the directions you need to "off the beaten path" espectacular places.||He is also an excellent cook, lamb, fish and dishes I can't even pronounce, all fantastic.|" next time I'll bring the mango jam" ;-)||He offers very convenient packages that include dinner and excursions.|With no doubt I will recommend this place to anyone traveling to Iceland.||
