Spent 3 nights / 2 days here with a school group, as one of 6 adults minding the teenagers.||I had a private room, shared bathroom. The rooms are clean and neat. My bed and bedding was extremely comfortable, the air quality was good and I could make the room as cool or warm as I liked which was nice. Despite the shared bathroom, my room had a sink just for me, which made it a lot more comfortable.||There are two hot tubs and a small swimming pool just outside of the shower rooms, with a stunning view of the mountains. We did a lot of adventure activities - bubble ball, wipe-out course, paintball and white water rafting.||The guides and staff are extremely professional, very focused on safety, and made sure everybody had a lot of fun while staying safe.||We had full board while we were there. The breakfast was a smorgasbord, very typically Icelandic, high quality food. For lunch and dinner we had hamburgers, pizza, and grilled chicken in different meals. The food was good and there was plenty of it, everybody was happy.||I highly recommend Bakkaflöt as a place to go for adventure activities like rafting, and I was delighted by how comfortable the acommodations were and how helpful and friendly the staff was.

Wonderful experience at Bakaflöt – perfect for groups and families

We had a fantastic stay at Bakaflöt with a group of around 40 people, including lots of children. The camping area was spacious and well-kept, and everything about the setting felt relaxed and welcoming — a true Icelandic countryside vibe.

Special thanks to Klara, who was incredibly kind and helpful throughout our stay. She really went above and beyond to make sure everyone felt at home. Her warmth made a big impression on all of us.

The two swimming pools were a big highlight, especially for the kids, and added a nice touch to the overall experience. We also had a cabin for part of the group, which was comfortable and convenient without taking away from the outdoor feel.

All in all, Bakaflöt is a lovely local spot with great service, a beautiful environment, and the kind of hospitality that makes you want to come back. Highly recommended!

This was BY FAR, the sweetest, most adorable overnight landing spot we have had on our Ring Road tour. We upgraded to a cabin as the main house room was the typical size and accommodations at guesthouses - small room, single beds, sink, shared bath, shared water closet. Our cabin, however, has a private deck, giant windows, our own deluxe bathroom with a gorgeous shower, plus a table, chairs, counters, and two beams. We parked right by our cabin and could relax and enjoy the many geothermal pools.

Wir waren auf unsere Islandrundreise eine Nacht im Guesthouse, wir hatten ein Zimmer nach vorne raus was fürchterlich warm war, lüften war nicht möglich durch die Sonneneinstrahlung.|Zimmer war OK wenn man Gemeinschaft Bad/Toilette bucht weiß man was einen erwarten kann, war aber in Ordnung da wir so ziemlich die einzigen Gäste waren.|Lage ist nicht wirklich einladend, es gibt zwei Hot Tubes und ein Schwimmbecken und einige Aktivitäten für das richtige Klientel.|Frühstück war überschaubar, aber sollte für jedem was dabei sein.

I rarely post reviews but I feel like this situation deserved one. Although there were some elements that were out of the campsite's control, my stay here was terrible. I had booked through Parka and arrived to the site around 7pm after a long drive and was beginning to get a migraine. I had been enticed by the mention of camping next to the sounds of the river. I noticed that there were a few bus loads full of teenagers (probably 13-14 years old) staying at the guesthouse. I tried to go to the reception twice to ask about getting a shower but there was nobody there and I knew it was an extra charge, so I couln't just go and use the showers which was frustrating.||I went to go to lay down in my van to sleep off the migraine and I noticed that there were some traffic cones set up near the van. There were some teenagers carrying on outside but this was fine since they were on vacation. About an hour later, I start to hear blaring music outside and it turns out the traffic cones were set up as a makeshift soccer pitch and the kids started to have a very loud soccer game outside of my van with the music still blaring. They even hit the van with the soccer ball a couple of times. What kind of campsite sets up a soccer pitch for kids right outside where people are camping?||Two soccer games later (thankfully the second one without the music), I think they're finally gone and I try to go to sleep for the night. Around 10:45pm I hear the blaring music again and notice that the kids are back. I open the curtains and get ready to go out and very politely say something but they saw the look on my face and promptly turned off the music and left. This would have been annoying at baseline, but with a migraine this was horrible.||That being said, I see that this place has very good reviews so I assume this isn't a thing that frequently happens here. The facilities were some of the cleanest I've seen during my trip which they do get some points for. I just wish that they would have been more considerate in where they allowed these soccer games to take place so late into the evening. I definitely wouldn't come back here, and I really wanted to like this place.

I don't know if this place has an official "star rating" so I am going to review this as a 2 star main guesthouse (we didn't see the cabins so I cannot judge).
As a 2 star guesthouse the overall mark I give is an okay 3 star rating.
There are some nice walks in the area and the lady on the front desk was happy to show us where to go on the maps.
The rooms are plain but serviceable. Ours had a sink so you could brush your teeth and wash your face in the room but shower facilities are shared. There is nowhere in the room to put clothes so you have to live out of your case/backpack and this takes up room that really isn't available.
We ate in the dining room once and the food was lovely. Good quality and very tasty. Breakfast was cold buffet fare of some meats and cheese as well as cereals, breads, spreads etc. There was lukewarm porridge that was actually very tasty.
The facilities are a little strange. We were a group of 17 adults mainly in our 30's - 50's staying for a couple of nights (so not young party-types). By the time we had finished dinner by 8:30pm we were being asked to move on but there is nowhere in the guesthouse to gather as a group and enjoy yourself. We wanted to use the hot-tubs but they close at 9pm and the changing room doors are locked. When we went to seating area on the upstairs landing we were simply too loud for the people in the bedrooms nearby, even though there was no shouting. We were just too large a group to be catered for here where there isn't a place to sit a group that doesn't disturb others.
