One of the interesting things to see while visiting Hellissandur are the murals adorning the exterior walls of a couple of old factory buildings, sides of residential buildings as well as a school in the town centre.

The murals includes those with saga theme, nature and some that are just creative artistry. You can see them from your vehicle but don't hesitate to walk around and view them from up close if interested.

There is other art as well. Beyond these, the others can be found with a quick drive through town. We spent about 30 minutes wandering and photographing. There is a very interesting connection here to "Journey to the Center of the Earth". Worthy, for sure, of a pass through.

A must visit. Really quiet place in the morning. Parking is also easy. Walk on the sea side road offers great view.
And the murals themselves are quite amazing.

Hellissandur è una vera sorpresa: un piccolo villaggio che ospita alcuni dei murales più belli e originali che abbia mai visto.

Passeggiando tra le case, si ha la sensazione di essere in una galleria d'arte a cielo aperto, con opere che raccontano storie, identità e creatività locale. È un luogo che unisce perfettamente natura e cultura, e che merita una tappa se siete nella penisola di Snæfellsnes.

Perfetto anche per chi ama la fotografia: ogni muro è uno sfondo suggestivo.
