The easiest car rental place to get to from a cruise ship. Literally just walk across the parking lot, and you are there. We scheduled for 10:00 and because of some issues we could not get off the ship until 11:00. Understandably, the office was closed as we didn't show up within a reasonable amount of time. I called the number posted on the door, and someone was sent from the main office to pick us up immediately and bring us to the main office to get a car. The main office is only like two miles away and everyone was so pleasant even though it was really on us that we didn't show on time or contact anyone to let them know we would be so late. The process, once we got to the office, was very quick and easy. The staff member who handled the paperwork was wonderful in that she explained the area well, informed us we could drop the car at the port and put the key in the mailbox slot, and even took the time to walk us out to the car. Great location, and I would highly recommend them for people off a cruise ship for the day.

We had reservations for 1pm and got off the ship late, we had no issues getting the car. It's a small place, I otherwise I would recommend a separate line for reservations and walk-ins. It's best to get there early to avoid the line even with a reserved car. We rented a car seat and gps. The GPS wasn't really needed as T-Mobile cellular works great here but for $7, why not have the extra security. All in all, we would rent from them again. The staff at the desk is great and work through the crowds pretty well. Very pleasant.

We arrived via cruise ship. There was a group of people waiting and nobody knew what time they officially opened, the number on to call on the door is the emergency line and they said 10am. At 7:55 they came to open for 8am. Very fast, friendly and very informative. We returned a little after 3pm and there was a key drop to leave the keys.

The Europcar location is directly at the port when you get of the cruise ship. The representatives are excellent and the cars are in great shape. The location was opened as soon as or ship docked before 8:00am and the return is extremely easy, just drop the key into the door and your on the ship within the time it takes you to walk 200 yards.
Europcar in AKUREYRI had fantastic customer service. I left a jacket in the car after dropping the keys in the drop. I called the main office and the manager did everything humanly possible to get me my jacket. Kalli, one of the representatives was so helpful to me and within minutes had an another representative drive hastily from the main office with my jacket so I got it before departure of the ship. This was all done with 15 minutes. They dropped everything to help me. I have rented cars all over the world and have never experienced this kind of service with any travel organization.

Leider kamen die Mitarbeiter erst 15Minuten nach der Öffnungszeit. Dann haben die Rechner nicht funktioniert. Die Autos waren in Ordnung. Bei der Abgabe ist keine Person anwesend. Der Schlüssel wird im Postfach abgelegt.

If you're getting off a cruise ship make sure you know what time they open. Our ship disembarked at 8am, and we ended up waiting till 9am for this location to open. This truncated out outing as we had to be back on board by 5pm. But they worked hard and we did eventually get our car.
