Outstanding experience. The beds and bathrooms were spotless. The hospitality was warm and welcoming. The price is insanely reasonable compared to other lodging in Reykjavik. The hostess Mex helped me reschedule an airport bus, she was on hold for a long time, and it saved me a lot of walking with heavy luggage at 2 am. . This place is a hostel not a hotel, so adjust your expectations.

The lady taking care of the hostel is smart, well spoken and extremely helpful! I came kinda unprepared to Iceland and she took ~3 hours to plan my trip, look for the cheapest rooms and even refunded a unnecessary ticket i bought so i could use it for my trip back to the airport. The place is cool too, close to the city center and has comfortable rooms with a reasonable amount of beds per room. Highly recommended.

I can't tell you how grateful I am that I went here. Max is the best! I came to Iceland with absolutely no plan, just to see a friend.
She spent over an hour writing down a 4 day itinerary for me by hand! My debit card was having problems, so she accepted my American cash and booked everything for me on her own card! She then loaded up a bag full of groceries and sent me on the road. Really, she's an angel. I would only go back to Iceland if she was there to help me plan my next trip, no lie. Best hostel I've ever been to!

Oh, but make sure to book directly with the hostel, not through a booking site. 😉

Worst choice we made on our vacation. We had to stay here for one night but sleeping in the car seems a much better choice now. The rooms are small, smelly, windows don't close properly, sheets, pillows, beds have to be paid extra (more than the accommodation itself), there are only 2 small bathrooms in the whole property, where the shower leaked, the toilet is clogged and instead of towels there are dirty rags. In the entrance hallway there was a supposed kitchen where guests were supposed to eat as it is forbidden in the rooms. In the kitchen there was laundry hanging out to dry, socks and shoes on the radiator, and one of the host's children was sleeping on one of the tables (something disturbing to watch). If you have any other option including sleeping in the airport, car or even outside choose it over this accommodation.

the host behaved badly, the room smelled bad, the shower was leaking, the toilet was dirty, the windows did not close, there were no sheets on the bed. Everything was terrible. In that place, many children among tourists were raised in terrible conditions. I am thinking of notifying the authorities in this regard. I do not recommend this accommodation, if I had no other alternative I would sleep in the car.

So, where to begin. We booked this place because our flight was cancelled and we had no other option. When we arrived at the hostel we found out we had to ‘rent’ the pillows, blackets and bedsheets, which were 6000 ISK Per person as they were not included in the initial price. In the room there were already two pillows and blankets, probabil used (that were taken afterwards, as we did not accept to pay extra for them) and the bedsheets on that two beds looked and smelled like they were used. There are only two very small bathrooms for the entire accomodation and the host used cropped cloth as towels. The room is very small, we barely could fit with the luggage. There was a lot of dirt in the place where we were supposed to eat, which also served as reception. One of the children who apparently lived with the host was sleeping on the table when we arrived. And finally, after we checked out, the host cancelled our booking reservation, so we could not leave an honest review of the place and she did not answer the phone anymore when we tried to contact her. Friendly advice, don’t ever go there.

J'ai visite cet hotel en janvrier et il etait horible. Je croix que personne ne nettoye jamais ce lieu. La hote n'a pas mentionne que nous n'avons pas des serviettes
et drapes et nous devons payer un supplement pour les recevoir. Surtout, il etait tres froid dans les chambres. Je ne conseille aucune choisir ce logement!!!
