Heida's Home was a nice place to spend our short time in Reykjavik. We booked a small double but at check in were given the option of a small room with a queen or a larger room with two twins pushed together. We chose the larger option and were given quite a large room, plenty of space to spread out our bags. And the beds were incredibly comfortable, some of the nicest I've had while traveling. ||||The bathroom and kitchen are shared with the other 3-4 rooms on the the floor, but they were kept perfectly clean and maintained. Only once was someone else in the bathroom when I needed it, and we were welcome to use the bathroom on the next floor in that case. In general, the place is in excellent shape and kept very clean. ||||The location is good, just on the edge of the centre of town, makes for a nice walk along the main streets or the waterfront to get to the centre. And nearby is the Hlemmur Mathöll, a foodhall where several local restaurants serve lunch and dinner, plus a coffeeshop for the mornings. And the local pool Sundhöllin is only a 5-10 minute walk, perfect if you want and Icelandic swim without the Blue Lagoon prices!||||We were able to leave our luggage for a few hours after checkout before it was time to catch our airport shuttle. The shuttle pickup point is just a few blocks away and very easy to get to.

Sehr nette Gastgeberin. Gemütlich eingerichtetes Zimmer. An der Tür hing eine Tafel mit unseren Vornamen, so dass wir gleich wussten, welche Tür zu unserem Zimmer führte. Es war sehr familiär, obwohl wir für uns waren. Das Bad mussten wir uns teilen, da es nur pro Etage ein Bad gab.|Die Zimmer sind hell und freundlich und sehr ruhig gelegen. Es gab eine Gemeinschaftsküche in der wir bis 20 Uhr kochen konnten.|Es war alles sehr sauber und ordentlich, die Zimmer sind klein aber gemütlich. Einziges Manko, sehr hellhörig und die Matratze sehr weich.|Heida's Home liegt mitten im Zentrum von Reykjavik, man kann alles zu Fuß sehr gut erreichen. Wir werden beim nächsten Aufenthalt auf jeden Fall wieder dort wohnen.|

Nous ne recommandons absolument pas cette maison ; malgré l'amabilité d'Heida par e-mail ; l'insonorisation des lieux est horrible....||> Très très déçu de notre première nuit : vacarme incessant dans notre chambre qui donnait sur la rue et à côté de la SDB partagée. |De 22h à minuit : bruit de la route avec les klaxonnes, freinage et/où accélération des bus, les motos, etc. Nous avons pourtant vérifié que les fenêtres étaient bien fermées. Il y a tout simplement une très mauvaise insonorisation des vitres...|Malheureusement cela ne s'arrête pas là ! |À 3h30 jusqu'à 4h15 bruit lié aux autres chambres (nous apprendrons par la suite qu'Heida était au courant d'un départ tôt de plusieurs clients). Nous avons eu le droit aux conversations, bruits des valises dans le couloir et les portes qui claquent. |Nous nous endormons mais sommes réveillés à 8h, par l'utilisation de la salle de bain ; entre bruit de la douche qui est très bruyante et des toilette (je vous passe les détails... Mais nous entendions tout ! ) ||Nous voyageons très régulièrement et c'est bien la première fois que nous nous décidons à quitter les lieux et à chercher un autre établissement. |C'est également la première fois que nous laissons ce type d'avis ! ||Nos 2 nuits chez Heida devait clôturer notre voyage en Islande... Nous lui expliquons (le lendemain de notre 1ère nuit), par email car personne le matin pour nous accueillir.... que nous ne reviendrons pas en mentionnant l'ensemble des éléments ci-dessus (en ayant dormi moins de 5h dans son hébergement) et en espérant à titre de dédommagement un remboursement de notre dernière nuit (non consommée), malgré un tarif prépayé.|Après diverses relances à ce sujet nous n'obtiendrons rien ! Fâcheux. ||Nous ne comprenons pas pourquoi le groupe qui devait partir tôt n'a pas été placé au même étage pour éviter de réveiller le reste des chambres !? |||> Nous n'avons jamais rencontré le personnel de l'établissement. N'est ce pas pourtant le but de la maison d'hôtes, rencontrer et échanger autour d'un café en matinée !? ||> Difficulté à trouver un endroit pour se garer. ||> Pas de lit double malgré notre demande... Nous nous retrouvons avec 2 lits simple collés (une habitude à prendre en Islande)||Pour le côté positif : bien situé, Heida s'adapte à l'heure de votre arrivée (même tardive), design chambre sympa.

We stayed in Heida’s home for our anniversary trip to Iceland because we needed a place which comes with a kitchen. The room we stayed in had an attached kitchennete and bathroom. It was pretty well equipped and very cozy. We had a good time. ||||Warning- Room is very small. Washroom is tiny enough to accommodate only one person. Bed is also pretty small (queen size)

On our first visit to Iceland, myself and sister were super excited to find something central in order to explore the city. Initially we were looking for something authentic that provided value for money, comfort and privacy. Aside from the great central location and perhaps the nice neighbors downstairs, this was a complete rip off and shameful to be having a high rating on booking.com and trip advisor. On all levels this place failed, specifically:||1. Misleading title and pictures: there are so many different titles from home center, to guest house to shared room across different search queries as well as the property having competent wrong images of what the property looks like, it was shady, dark, messy and lacked any kind of standards for the hefty price you pay|2. Rude host: we had initially tried to have a civil conversation with the host to communicate the inconsistency of info on booking regarding shared facilities and bathrooms, which actually was not listed initially. She have a very bad attitude towards trying to understand us and worse she allocated some other individuals to handle coming guest who didn’t know how to fully handle our arrival|3. Basics: the basic stuff like shower gel, enough towels were not there. Better yet the place was super tiny and crowded with random broken door handles, randomly placed furniture and extinguishers at front door didn’t leave enough space to move |4. Smell and privacy: the first thing we smelled entering the house was fried onions and poo smell when we entered the bathroom. What is the biggest failure is the host failed to mention that this is actually a hostel with shared rooms in the same house. There is no real privacy doors and you can hear everything from the next room which both made us and the guests in second room uncomfortable|5. Views: nothing to say but a terrible view of a grungy backyard area of the building - very dull|6. Value for money: do a quick search on booking.com in the same area and I guarantee that you will get better value in every way||I hope the host doesn’t deceive any more guests and makes clear on her info.

I booked a room for one night. The bedroom I had was nicely decorated, very clean, had enough space and was quiet (no windows towards the street).|The price is seemed fair to me for local standards (135€/n). The lady who greeted us - Heida I assume - was very discreet (which is something I appreciate).|My only criticism is the bathroom. 1/ they're small and there's only one per floor. With three rooms per floor, I can imagine the bathrooms to be in high demand quickly. When I was there many rooms were empty but I imagine it can become uncomfortable if fully booked. 2/ The bathroom on the first floor will need some refreshing works soon.|Overall a nice place.

Meine Schwester und ich waren im März 2017 für einige Nächte hier zu Gast. Die Zimmer sind zwar nicht besonders groß, aber super gemütlich eingerichtet. Pro Flur gibt es ein Badezimmer, welches man sich mit einem oder zwei weiteren Zimmern teilt. Es gibt eine kleine Küche, in der man sich aufhalten und Essen zubereiten kann. Wie auch der Rest der Unterkunft war diese schön sauber und aufgeräumt. ||Sämtliche Restaurants, Geschäfte, Bars und Sehenswürdigkeiten sind zu Fuß zu erreichen. ||Unschlagbar finde ich auf jeden Fall das Preis-Leistungsverhältnis, da die meisten zentralen Hotels und Gasthäuser viel mehr Geld kosten. Einziges Manko könnte die Hellhörigkeit sein, da das Haus Holzdielen hat und die Fenster nicht besonders dick sind. Mich persönlich hat das aber nicht gestört, alle Gäste waren sehr rücksichtsvoll und haben sich wie wir leise verhalten um niemand anderen zu stören.

Siamo stati di recente in Islanda e abbiamo soggiornato presso Heida's Home. La soluzione è ottimale, vicino al centro, pulita sia la stanza che il bagno in comune (ero molto scettica in generale ma mi sono dovuta ricredere). Hanno anche delle cucine a disposizione degli ospiti, che sono molto comode nel caso di necessità di colazioni o pasti ad orari particolari o anche solo per risparmiare un po'. C'è comunque la possibilità di fare colazione in hotel. I proprietari sono molto cortesi e pronti a dare suggerimenti in merito a cosa vedere o dove mangiare.
