A quiet hotel in the middle of the westfjords. It might be a little aged, because it was an old school building and is being restored, but the hot tub in the back of a little forest is perfect for viewing northern lights during the nights and our courteous host Cindy made the stay very welcoming.

This is a small inn which used to be a boarding school for the area. They don’t have a restaurant so eat before you come. They do have a chicken soup that is homemade but needs to be warmed up. ||As we had a lot of luggage, the lady at reception upgraded us. She was very sweet. ||We stayed for the night and had to do an early check out at 7. ||Since breakfast opens at 8 and she didn’t know we leave early, she felt very bad we were leaving on an empty stomach and quickly made us a breakfast to go.

Wie schon zuvor mehrfach beschrieben, sieht das Haus von außen zunächst nicht einladend aus, aber der Eindruck täuscht! Das Gebäude ist eine alte Schule, die renoviert wurde. Die Zimmer samt Bad sind sehr schön gestaltet und funktional und modern eingerichtet. Wir hatten bei unseren zwei Übernachtungen ungewöhnlich häufig Ausblick auf einen Regenbogen. Beim Frühstück hat uns nichts gefehlt. Sehr freundliche Gastgeber.

Les chambres que nous avons eu étaient un peu petites mais très bien pour y dormir le temps d'une nuit. Les service parfait. Les deux jeunes femmes que nous avons croisées étaient adorables et super serviables, attentives a nos besoins et discrètes. L'emplacement est à 15 minutes d'Isafjordur, dans un petit coin de fjord très calme et qui offre des vues superbes. S'agissant d'une ancienne école on n'y croise pas de groupes ce qui est agréable. Je recommande.

The Holt Inn is a comfortable, welcoming place to stay.
It's surrounded by sweeping views of mountains and fjord, quite isolated in a wonderful way.
Our room and bathroom were perfect for the few nights we stayed there in August.
Our hosts were kind and full of information about our surroundings, where to eat and what to see. Highly recommended.

This beautifully managed inn is welcoming, friendly, and quite isolated on Onundarfjord in the Westfjords of Iceland. Our room was simple but comfortable, one of ten or so in what used to be a schoolhouse, surrounded by stunning views of fjord and mountains.||The breakfasts were the best of all the places we stayed.|We felt well taken care of by our hosts and hope to go back on our|next visit.

I am thrilled to have stayed at this gem of a hotel. It was clean, cute, comfortable and just a super pleasant experience. I was sad to have to leave early due to my own schedule as I would have loved to spend more time here. Just fantastic!
